Removing nicks from your Billiard Cues
What
are nicks by the way? Oh... they are those dents on your billiard cue
stick .
Remember that fine day in a billiard parlor when you cannot get the
black one inside the pocket and you whack your billiard
cue stick onto the billiards table..... Rule number one, to prevent your billiard cue stick having nicks, try controlling your temper, for
the billiard cue stick is not your weapon.
Most people go straight to sand it
down with a piece of sandpaper. But that will not solve the problem,
it will only cause your billiard cue stick to have an hourglass shape.
Do not worry too much about it, heat alone will remove it. Just use a
piece of smooth and undyed leather and
rub the affected area in a quick, up and down motion. It will disappear
gradually. If the nick still persist, try dabbing some water on the
affected area and rub on it again, it should do the trick.
If for instance
you really have an extreme case
and every method described above failed, try using a lighter or candle
to remove the nick with heat.
Please be seriously careful with this method, it can leave a burnt
or scorch mark on your billiard cue stick. Read this article on caring for
your billiard cue stick. Click here.
For further protection try buying a billiard
cue case, but before you
head down to the nearest billiard shop for one, read this artcle and
