Your Body Stance is Important to the game of billiards in
billiard parlor
If
you take a walk in any billiard parlor, experienced billiard player may point out to you that you should work out your stance first
and the rest will follow. Although there are no standard or full proof
way that a certain stance is the answer, what I can provide is a guide
for you to judge. It will able to show you the basic things to avoid
and improve on it, but ultimately you are the one that will decide which
position is the most comfortable for you to play and concentrate on
your objective.
When you do your
stance, you got to relax, do not counter a shot over anxiety, that will
stiffen all your muscle groups. Both feet should be a feet and a half
apart and planted solidly on the ground. Left foot in front of your
right foot. Bend your body at an angle of about 40 degrees from your
billiard cue stick. Your chin slightly above your billiard
cue stick and your eyes focus through the line
of sight from the billiard cuestick, cue tip and the cue ball.
A successful shot depends on your billiard
stroke and your aim. The right hand holding the billiard
cue stick determines the power and direction of the cue ball. You should hold your billiard cue stick at a relax manner, avoid
letting your thumb to rest on your billiard cue stick, it will automatically
cause you wrist to be tense. Your elbow should bend at a 90 degrees
angle perpendicular to the ground. If the cue ball is far, you will
hold the billiard cue stick towards the end. When you are about to strike
the cue ball with your billiard cue stick, your eyes should be concentrating
on the area where your cue tip meets the cue ball.
Any shot attempted
with a wrong position or stance will definitely cause the cue ball to
move in an undesired direction, so doing it right is imporatant. Always
avoid twisting your wrist when attempting a shot. Also watch out on your
breathing, see what works for you; some used a controlled breathing method,
some hold their breath when attempting a shot and some just breath normally. |
